We welcomed Roel Beetsma (Dean and Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Amsterdam) in our second webinar. He presented his recent study titled: 'Do Pension Fund Investments Make a Difference? Effects on Firm Productivity'.

- The study suggests that pension funds raise firms’ productivity by investing in their equity.
- On average, an increase of 1 percentage point in pension fund investment is associated with a total factor productivity increase of approximately 0.3%.
- The effects are larger for unlisted firms.
