We are delighted to share our latest joint comparative study with the VITALIS team: “Comparing Pension Systems in Greece, Mexico, Portugal and Turkey: Current Situation and Future Perspectives.”
This report brings together a cross-country analysis of four very different pension ecosystems—Greece, Mexico, Portugal and Turkey—creating a valuable laboratory for understanding how demographic trends, macroeconomic realities, labor market structures, and institutional reforms shape retirement outcomes.
Policy recommendations center on expanding coverage through auto-enrollment, improving adequacy via lifecycle strategies, using behavioral and digital tools to engage savers, and aligning long-term pension assets with ESG and capital market development.
A heartfelt thank you to the VITALIS team for the excellent collaboration, and to all co-authors and contributors who made this comparative project possible. Monterrubio Maribel, Abraham Hernandez, Georgios Symeonidis, Michail Anthropelos, Roberto Carcache Flores, Arashim Chávez Carranza, Carolina Cabrita Felix.
It was a pleasure to work together on a study that bridges policy, behavioral insights, and long-term investing practices across very different contexts.
